Two homes, ten nights
Where you'll stay
Nights 1–2
Giza
We stay in Giza itself rather than central Cairo — close enough to the plateau that the pyramids are part of the view, not a day trip. It means your first morning in Egypt begins on a rooftop with breakfast and something 4,500 years old in front of you.
Rooms are comfortable and simple, air-conditioned, with private bathrooms. There's a rooftop terrace for the welcome dinner and the first group gathering, and staff who are used to travellers arriving at strange hours.
Pyramid-view and single-room upgrades are available for these nights as an add-on.
- Walking distance to the plateau
- Rooftop terrace and dining
- Shared or private rooms
- Airport transfers included
- Welcome dinner on arrival
- Late and overnight arrivals handled

The heart of the retreat
Siwa Oasis
We chose Siwa because it does not perform for visitors. The venue sits inside the oasis rather than beside it — built from local mud-brick, salt and palm, low and quiet, with the Great Sand Sea beginning just past the last grove.

01
Accommodation
Shared and private rooms in mud-brick buildings, cool by day, warm at night. Ceiling fans, natural materials, no televisions.
02
The pool
Spring-fed, palm-shaded, and central to how the free hours actually get spent.
03
Gathering spaces
Shaded terraces, floor cushions, low tables and a fire area for evening circles.
04
Wellness spaces
A dedicated practice space for movement, breathwork, sound and Yin — plus the desert itself when the light is right.
05
Meals
Local, with vegetarian options on request, cooked from what the oasis grows: dates, olives, greens, tahini, flatbread, slow-cooked tagines. Dietary needs accommodated.
06
Natural hot springs
Mineral-rich hot springs right on site — soak at dawn, between sessions, or under the stars.
07
Natural surroundings
Date palms, olive trees, salt lakes within reach, springs in the groves, and dunes on the horizon.
08
Atmosphere
Unhurried and genuinely quiet. Sound carries; so does birdsong at dawn and drumming at night.
09
Relationship to the oasis
Locally built and locally staffed. Guides, drivers and cooks are from Siwa — this is their place and we are guests in it.
You wake early because the light is extraordinary, walk barefoot to the pool before anyone else is up, and sit there with tea while the palms start moving.

The invitation
Your temple is within.
Egypt is simply the place where we gather to remember it.
